Brain Awareness Event
On 6/8/23 and 13/8/23 members of the Rotaract Club participated in the Brain Awareness Event organised by the Penang Neurosurgery Department of Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang in Youth Park and Gurney Drive respectively. The event aims to raise public awareness of the early detection of brain disorders emphasizing the significance of brain health. The medical staffs were present to provide free health screening and advice. The mental health and total well-being of the SENTRAL community are of utmost importance.
On 6/8/23 the event started with an invigorating 15-minute aerobics session, setting the tone for an active day ahead. The highlight of the day was the 3.2 km Walkathon for a total physical and mental workout.
On 13/8/23 participants were energised by the lively paco-paco dance followed by an insightful session on strokes, brain tumours, rehabilitation, and recovery. Adding a touch to creativity, the children were engaged in a colouring contest, igniting their imaginative talents.
