Knowledge Sharing Session
The School of Business Management organised a discourse on “The Role of Bank Negara Malaysia in Fostering Monetary and Financial Stability for Sustainable Growth of the Malaysian Economy” on 22/2/24. The event featured Mr Wong Chan Wai, a Senior Economist specializing in Regional Economic Surveillance at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Penang.
The initiative was designed to empower our students with invaluable insights into the intricate workings of BNM, particularly in executing a nation’s monetary policy and regulating its money supply. Mr Wong drew from his wealth of industry experience. He delved into the nuances of maintaining low inflation and ensuring steady GDP growth, providing our students with a profound understanding of these crucial economic mechanisms.
The talk culminated with a presentation by Ms Akmalia shedding light on scam awareness and imparting crucial knowledge on avoiding falling victim to scammers. The session not only broadens our students’ intellectual horizons but also equips them with practical tools to navigate the complex landscape of monetary and financial stability.
